Humiliation

Reading Matthew 1 tonight. Amazed at the genealogy listed here.

Murder's, half-breeds, products of incest, prostitutes, liars, pagans, fools, rebels, punks, parental disasters and those that left a wake of death and destruction

Phillip Yancey, in the book Disappointment with God, said the Three Great Humiliations of God were the Incarnation, the Crucifixion and the Church?

The Church because He gave us His name and put us in charge, a bunch of pathetic, religious, legalistic, lukewarm, competitive, lustful, jealous, murderous and disasterous people to share His likeness with a world gone mad.

Humbling.

  1. Hello Greg,
I was motivated to come over to read your blog by a sentence that you left in a comment on A Christian view blog by Steve Fennel. The sentence was 'We don't do works to become saved, but if you know Him and what He is done, wild horses can't hold you back'. I would like to read more of what you have to say, I have read a little, including the poetry which I liked very much. I agree with you in several things.
